There are some good advantages to serving deep. Deep serves cause your opponent to retreat to the back court and gives you a chance to get yourself to center court to go on the offensive. This is a detailed description of how to serve a forehand deep in the opponents back court.
Is this serve more effective than the backhand serve?

I think that this serve is great. It seems like you can hit it as hard as you can and it will still go in.

What I didn't know is that you have to post 3 sentences. Well, I would say that this serve seems really effective. You get your opponent to really drop back to the back court, which allows you the opportunity to rush the net for the easy volley. Do you think you can do this with a backhand serve?
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite technique by far.
ReplyDeleteBy hitting it with force, you send the birdy to the back of the opponents court. when they hit it, you can slam it down onto their side and score!
I can't wait to try this out.

This technique seems that it could be very powerful, but it also seems kind of risky. In order to do it right, the shuttle must go pretty high. I'm guessing if you don't hit it high enough, it would set your opponent up for a good return.
ReplyDeleteThis serve seems really useful, however when I serve I don't think I'll be able to get it that far. I still am unable to get a really far hit from a serve, I can't really get the power. How people are able to serve it so far and start below the waistline is baffling to me. The serve does look like it would give one time to set themselves up for a return, assuming it was executed properly.

If one could always hit the shuttle in the correct place while using this serve, it could prove to be an invaluable tool at your disposal during matches. The time it gives you to set your stance, and the pure satisfaction of whacking the shuttle makes this a worthy serve/move to use.
